The first part of the fifth series of the Japanese anime following the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager with the ability to see ghosts who finds himself locked in battle with the evil spirits known as Bounts. In this instalment, Kariya and the Bounts arrive in the Soul Society and find themselves battling two Soul Reaper lieutenants, but the abundance of reishi in the Soul Society has given the Bounts a ready source of power making them formidable opponents.
