Louise Brooks stars in this silent drama directed by Georg W. Pabst. Lulu (Brooks)'s uninhibited behaviour spells disaster for herself and the men who adore her. When her new husband Dr. Ludwig Schön (Fritz Kortner) dies during an argument, Lulu is charged with manslaughter but flees the country with his son, Alwa (Franz Lederer), who is in love with her. Her attempts to evade the authorities see her sold to a brothel and later forced into prostitution, before she finally crosses paths one night with Jack the Ripper (Gustav Diessl).
