Dublin-based drama starring Mike Myers in his first dramatic role as Pete, a drug dealer who is in the process of getting back on the straight and narrow when his two best friends - a couple - die unexpectedly. Hoping to provide for their three children, he ends up moving in with them at their grandmother (Brenda Fricker)'s house. Before long, this unlikely household witnesses what seems to be a miracle: a meteor lands in their backyard. The orphaned children believe it has been sent to them by their dead parents - but the government comes to remove the meteor and take it to the university for study. In the process, the children become acquainted with wacky scientist Hugh (Alfred Molina), who, after a rocky start, eventually finds a place in his heart for the children.
