Part of the documentary series looking at real-life stories of courage and self-sacrifice. 'Lawrence of Arabia' profiles the achievements of T.E. Lawrence, who during the First World War united the Arab tribes in their rebellion against Turkish rule. 'The Elusive Treasure' looks at the quest by Howard Carter to uncover the lost tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen, and examines the truth behind the legends of the 'Pharaoh's Curse'. Finally, 'Captain Courageous' looks at the heroic efforts by Danish captain Henrik Kurt Carlsen to save his ship when it was seriously damaged in 1952. After saving the passengers, Carlsen refused to leave during the rescue efforts, only abandoning ship at the moment it began to sink.
