Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn star in this classic adventure drama directed by John Huston. When her village is destroyed during WWI, British missionary Rose Sayer (Hepburn) is forced to team up with Canadian river trader Charlie Allnut (Bogart). The pair take an immediate dislike to one another with moralistic Rose unimpressed with Charlie's uncouth ways and his fondness for alcohol. As the Germans approach they flee down the Congo aboard Charlie's battered ship, The African Queen. Their initial misgivings about one another turns to mutual respect and following further difficulties with the boat the pair find themselves falling in love, however, the Germans continue to pursue them.
