The Muppets present their own version of Charles Dickens' immortal festive tale about a bitter old miser who is shown the error of his ways. Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine) is the antithesis of the Christmas spirit. The money lender tyrannises his employees, who include Bob Cratchit (a role assumed by Kermit the Frog), and is utterly dismissive when his eager nephew, Fred (Steven Mackintosh), comes to invite him to Christmas dinner. Indeed, the only reason Scrooge agrees to allow Bob to take Christmas Day off is that the lack of custom would mean it would be a waste of coal to heat the office. However, that night Scrooge is visited by a number of Christmas ghosts, played by Muppets including Statler and Waldorf, and he may well have a change of heart when he meets the sickly Tiny Tim...
