Tom Burke, Luke Pasqualino, Alexandra Dowling and Peter Capaldi are among the stars of this BBC drama inspired by Alexandre Dumas's novel 'The Three Musketeers'. Set in 17th century Paris, the show follows the musketeers, Athos (Burke), Aramis (Santiago Cabrera), Porthos (Howard Charles) and D'Artagnan (Pasqualino), as they set about defending their queen (Dowling) from threats to her throne and the nation of France as a whole. Sources of danger include the devilish Cardinal Richelieu (Capaldi), Comte de Rochefort (Marc Warren) and the King's mistress Malady de Winter (Maimie McCoy) though they are by no means the only enemies the dashing musketeers will have to contend with... Series 1 episodes are: 'Friends and Enemies', 'Sleight of Hand', 'Commodities', 'The Good Soldier', 'The Homecoming', 'The Exiles', 'A Rebellious Woman', 'The Challenge', 'Knight Takes Queen' and 'Musketeers Don't Die Easily'. Series 2 episodes are: 'Keep Your Friends Close', 'An Ordinary Man', 'The Good Traitor', 'Emilie', 'The Return', 'Through a Glass Darkly', 'A Marriage of Innocence', 'The Prodigal Father', 'The Accused' and 'Trial and Punishment'.
