Chilean writer/director Cristin Jimenez helms this quirky literary romance adapted from a novella by Alejandro Zambra. Julio (Diego Noguera) and Emilia (Nathalia Galgani) meet at a party at university, and bond over the mutual white lie that both have read a work by Proust. They move into a languorous relationship centred round sex and literature. Eight years later, Julio (still prone to telling white lies) finds himself 'accidentally' writing a novel about his relationship with Emilia, which he reads in instalments to his current lover, Blanca (Trinidad Gonzalez), under the pretence that he is transcribing the work of a famous novelist.
