John Huston directs this biopic about the life of French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec played by Jos� Ferrer. As he attends the infamous Moulin Rouge nightclub Lautrec sketches the dancers and is asked by the club owner to create a promotional poster as they aim to attract members from high society. Meanwhile, Lautrec's attempts at finding love continue to fail and he reacts by consuming alcohol at an alarming rate and as ill-health affects him his art begins to gain recognition. The cast also features Zsa Zsa Gabor, Suzanne Flon and Colette Marchand.
