Comedy-horror in which the inhabitants of a small Irish island discover that the only way to fight back against an outbreak of deadly creatures is to get outrageously drunk. Lisa (Ruth Bradley), a young police officer, is a newcomer to Erin Island, having been posted there to cover the holiday of the island's Chief Constable. She is paired with Ciaran (Richard Coyle), who mournfully warns her that the island is extremely dull and that the only thing to do is get drunk. His attitude is shared by Paddy (Lalor Roddy), a fisherman with a drink habit, who catches a bizarre creature at sea and takes it home with him. The creature and its kin turn out to be aggressive and more than capable of killing, though, strangely, Ciaran and Paddy, both survive direct attacks. Gradually, the surviving islanders come to realise that the consumption of alcohol is the key to defeating the 'grabbers' and duly organise their biggest ever booze binge. Purely in self-defence, of course...
