Giacomo Puccini's opera in three acts, set in Rome at the beginning of the 19th century, performed at the 2003/4 Teatro Real season. In Rome, 1800, former consul Cesare Angelotti seeks refuge with the painter Cavaradossi in the Attavanti chapel. Cavaradossi's lover Tosca (Daniela Dess�), however, believes that he has another woman, and betrays him and Angelotti to Baron Scarpia, the chief of police.
