Triple bill featuring three popular drama movies. In director Robert DeNiro's 'The Good Shepherd' (2006), Edward Bell Wilson (Matt Damon) is a patriotic, morally wholesome Yale graduate recruited by the fledgling CIA. His life is thrown into a dizzying chain of events as the full weight of the position he has accepted becomes clear. The strictest secrecy must be observed which causes friction between Edward and his new wife Margaret (Angelina Jolie). As America ushers in the era of cold war jitters, suddenly nobody trusts anyone, nobody is above suspicion and the only beliefs Wilson is left with - those of country and national pride - are challenged. The stellar supporting cast includes, among others, De Niro, Alec Baldwin, John Turturro and William Hurt. In 'The Interpreter' (2005), Nicole Kidman plays Silvia Broome, an interpreter working for the United Nations who overhears what could be a discussion about an assassination attempt on an African head of state. Convinced that the assassins are after her too, she seeks refuge with experienced, no-nonsense federal agent Tobin Keller (Sean Penn). As Keller starts investigating Silvia's past, he becomes more convinced that she is in some way involved with the conspiracy. Locked into an emotional conflict of mutual suspicion, Keller and Silvia must learn to trust each other enough in order to avert an assassination attempt on American soil. Finally, in 'A Few Good Men' (1992), Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is a Navy lawyer assigned to defend two men who accidentally killed a Private by asphyxiating him with a towel. Initially working out a quick and easy plea bargain with the prosecuting lawyer (Kevin Bacon), Kaffee is persuaded to investigate the case further by a determined colleague (Demi Moore). Together they take on the might of the Navy establishment, as the trail of evidence leads to the accused's commanding officer (Jack Nicholson).
