'Russell manages a few ingenious twists and turns ... the Glasgow that Russell conjures up is dark, cold and shabby, but poised on the edge of the more promising 60s. It's seen through the eyes of the classic crime hero outsider, Lennox... He (Craig Russell) remains of the more intelligent and sophisticated proponents of the genre' Glasgow Herald.
'Russell is a truly gifted story teller and this tale of life in post WWII Glasgow is brimming with rich descriptions of larger-than-life characters' Euro Crime.
'Russell's 1950s Glasgow is dank, murky and excellently realised. Slick, chilling and excellently written' The Scotsman.
'Set in 1950's Glasgow, it is tartan noir at its noirest - compelling and dark' Scottish Sunday Herald.
Scottish Sunday Herald
'Vivid and compelling, with a dark sense of place, even darker characters, and deliciously noir humour' Peter James
