Rock opera composed by Pete Townshend, directed by Ken Russell and starring Roger Daltrey as the eponymous hero. Following a childhood trauma Tommy suffers from a catatonic state where he appears to be blind, deaf and mute. As his mother (Ann-Magret) attempts to find a cure Tommy takes up the pinball machine and his impressive talent soon gains him a cult following. However, his growing popularity brings its own set of problems. The cast also features Oliver Reed, Jack Nicholson and Tina Turner.
