Hard-hitting documentary that focuses on one family's attempts to survive the chaos of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Opting to stay in their home when the full force of the hurricane struck, Kimberly and Robert Scott emerged to find their neighbourhood decimated and the streets submerged. Over the following weeks and months, using a hand-held camera, they charted the inadequate attempts of the federal agencies to restore normality, in the process cataloguing the failures of a world superpower to safeguard the lives of its own citizens, and raised worrying questions about the level of social injustice in America today.
